Several Manufacturers producing equipment for the ham radio market started with the production of "multi band" or "world wide" receivers in the seventies. Quite often, these sets have a straightforward construction and some of them have been modified to improve their characteristics, so You might encounter them in the second hand market.

I present a few of these sets from smaller manufacturers in alphabetical order:

Bearcat DX-1000:
double conversion, digital frequency display 1 kHz,
10 kHz - 30 MHz
Century-21:
double conversion, linear analog dial 5 kHz,
0,5 - 30 MHz
Minix-MR73B:
double conversion, analog dial with bandspread in Ham bands,
0,5 - 30 MHz, SSB
Standard C-6500 double conversion, linear analog dial 5 kHz,
0,5 - 30 MHz

In the eighties and nineties, some receivers with a contemporary technical design resembling the set constructed by LOWE appeared on the market:

Target HF-3:
double conversion, digital frequency display 1 kHz,
30 kHz - 30 MHz
Target HF-4:(NASA HF-4)
double conversion, digital frequency display 1 kHz,
0,5 - 30 MHz
